President of Asia University, Jing-Pha Tsai, Was Invited as a Keynote Speaker at 2020 Annual Meeting of AI Academy---

Taiwan AI Academy thanks to the China Asia Associated University for promoting AI talent training and fulfilling the university's social responsibility

In the most important Annual Meeting of Taiwan AI Academy, the academy presented a special award to China Asia Associated University (CAAU) formed by China Medical University (CMU) and Asia University (AU). The award was accepted Jing-Pha Tsai, president of AU, on behalf of CAAU. Thanks to CAAU for its great assistance and contribution to the AI Academy for more than three years since the establishment of the academy. President Tsai said that this is the social responsibility of the university, which can not only cultivate AI talent in the industry, government, and academia, but also implement AI education on campus to meet the needs of the AI generation.

President Tsai said that Prof. Chang-Hai Tsai, chairman of the CAAU, actively sought to cooperate with Taiwan AI Academy three years ago to set up a branch school in Taichung, and assisted in the establishment of the learning space and the hardware equipment for the school. Many AI talents have been trained by the branch school at CAAU so far. In the meantime, the CAAU has promoting AI education and research in the affiliated Asia University Hospital (AUH) and China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) that conducted R&D and applications and has achieved considerable results.

CAAU will continue to work hand in hand with Taiwan AI Academy to assist the Taichung branch school to enter the CMU campus in the Shuinan Economic and Trade Park in Taichung City, cultivate more AI talents, and work hard for future.

Prof. Jing-Pha Tsai, the president of AU, introduced smart medical research results which have been applied in the nephrology department of Asia University Hospital.

The 2020 Annual Meeting of AI Academy was held at the Academia Sinica in Taipei on November 13. President Jing-Pha Tsai of AU was invited to give a keynote speech on the topic “R&D and vision in the smart health field.” Prof. Tsai mentioned in his speech a few items from the research results, output value, and future trends of the smart medical industry.

“CAAU has also derived an innovative enterprise Changjia Intelligent Company,” said President Tsai, “and after the transfer of AI medical R&D technology to Ever Fortune.AI Company, 84 medical AI interpretation models have been developed.” President Tsai also pointed out that the auxiliary diagnosis system has been transferred to 20 medical institutions to help clinicians interpret images efficiently and make more accurate diagnosis and treatment.”

Speaking of future smart medical development and research, President Tsai emphasized that AU has signed a memo of industry-academic cooperation in the 5G+AI smart medicine field with Far EasTone Telecom Co. and Trend Micro Co., taking the lead in creating and developing a 5G smart medical environment. It is expected that the 5G environment of Far Eastone Telecom Co., the 5G network security protection mechanism of Trend Micro Co., and the AI and precision medical technology of AU will create a secure 5G smart medical network.

President of the AU, Prof. Jing-Pha Tsai, introduced the current development of smart medical care at CAAU, which is used in projects about treatments of illnesses like liver cirrhosis, heart disease, kidney disease, and acute stroke.

At the 2020 Annual Meeting of Taiwan AI Academy, Prof. Jing-Pha Tsai introduced AI-assisted diagnosis research conducted by CAAU to find cases of myocardial infarction.
