New semester is coming! Welcome to Asia University.
A couple of things to remind you before you come:
- Taiwan government is scheduled to re-open the border for international students soon. Before you go for visa application, you need to obtain an entry permit issued by Taiwan MOE from Asia U (Asia U will submit the list of new international students to MOE next week).
- Given the time spent for visa application, booking air flight and preparation for departure, we don’t think you will be able to come over to Taiwan when our fall semester begins on September 13th. To solve your learning problems because of the delayed arrival, Asia U. will offer online delivery for the first month after the semester gets started. Your arrival to Asia U might be delayed because of the extra caution for the pandemic, but your learning will not be disrupted. However, you need to register, select your courses and pay the tuition fee before you can have the access to use Asia U’s learning platform. For further informing concerning taking online courses, the International College at Asia U will provide you with the updated messages accordingly.
- According to CDC policy here, there will be a 2 weeks + 7 days quarantine for each international student coming to Taiwan. As for the quarantine fee, we also learned from Taiwan MOE that the government will pay the first 2 weeks of quarantine fee, but you have to pay the last 7 days of quarantine, roughly some NT$2000 per day (approximately US$ 65). The quarantine hotel of the first two weeks will be arranged by MOE and the third week by Asia U.
Hope this information can help ease your worry and anxiety. Look forward to seeing you on campus soon.
